Need a little sommin sommin for your walls or bland dorm room. Moonstr makes the most colorful art ever. http://www.moonstr.etsy.com.
She rocks.
Maybe a new puppet? A gourd doll? Something with a dachsund theme? I haven't decided. I just got three boxes out of storage. One labeled crafts, one labeled costumes and one labeled yarn. They are covered in dust and cobwebs. So it will be like a treasure hunt. Some of my braided ribbon fell out as we were shifting them. I think it will be fine with a dusting and/or a washing. I also found a crewel embroidery project that's about 3/4 finished that I started when my kids were little. Now they are married, so that's how long that's been in storage or moved from house to house.
I don't want to make anything stressful...just something quick and easy and fun.
Did your entry win? Go here to see. http://www.etsy.com/poster_contest.php
I went a bit crazy when I got into gourd art and I even made a website for it here: http://gourdmania.com/
But when I checked my site today the counter said 4. I can't believe only 4 people have visited my site. Then again, I took my site offline when I was having computer access issues, so maybe when I tweaked it today it reset my counter to zero. I need to make some more gourds with a holiday theme to use as gifts in December. And I still dream of making a gourd banjo someday.
Yesterday I posted five new paintings to my Etsy shop. I think that's a record for me to list so many items in one day. After awhile my mind turns to mush and I can't remember if I've already typed that sentence in this listing or not. I also found that if I relist an expired item, it doesn't automatically go back to the right section of my shop. I have to resort it.
Still, I'm having fun on Etsy.
It looks like we are in for another humid and sticky day in S. Calif. I don't mind staying indoors and working on projects for Etsy. I have about five projects that are almost done.
I was savnig for a button making machine and then my truck insurance payment came due, so after I pay that, I'll have to start saving all over again.
I've been busy making things for my Pigglewiggins shop lately. I have a whole bunch of stuff that is almost done that I want to add to my online store. Some of them are puppets, some are watercolor paintings. And I have a slew of gourds that need to be finished and put up for sale. I've been a slacker.
I'm always trying to improve my drawing skills. They get rusty so fast. It's so tempting to just stick to knitting or crochet, and leave the harder stuff for others, but I guess I'm just a glutton for punishment.
I also need to start going through all my journals and see if I can find the Pigglewiggins book I was writing. I remember it was a female character. That's about it.
I run into people that say they have 1000's of people subscribed to their blog. How do they do it? I'm lucky if I can get 2 people to favorite me. Much less subscribe to an RSS feed or something. Usually someone only reads my blogs if I meet them in a chatroom and say 'here's my blog'. Even then they usually just bookmark it till later, which means they probably never go back and read it. I mean, who has time really. Most of the people I know barely have time to remember to eat between work, school and home.
Today is turning into a busy day. I woke up to a sale in my etsy store. www.pigglewiggins.etsy.com. So I've been putting that together to ship.
I knew I had an Etsy OC Street Team meeting tonight from 7 to 9, where I will be eating dinner, so of course my bf decides I should cook chicken for dinner tonight because it won't keep another day. Any of the last 3 or 4 days would have worked better for me. I'll just have to make it this afternoon, which I'm not looking forward to because of the heat wave. The last thing I need in the house is more heat. So far I've managed to not turn on the air conditioner, but I may have no choice today. It just seems silly to run the oven and the air conditioner at the same time. Maybe I should figure out how to microwave chicken. Silly me...since he bought it, I figured he was going to cook it using his own recipe. Yes, I could have told him no, but then it would have ended up in the trash so what good is that. He works from 10 AM to 9 PM so he wouldn't even be here to cook it.
It's almost noon and I haven't even had breakfast yet. I don't get very hungry when it's hot out. I'm not even hungry now, but I'm going to eat because if I don't I will probably get a headache. So much for all the diet gurus who say only to eat when you are hungry.
I posted a bunch of photos of my train trip and the mission san miguel on my Flickr and Gather accounts. Some 'photo expert' has been commenting on all my photos and giving them low rankings. Who asked him, anyway? It annoys me greatly when 'experts' want to judge snapshots as if they are judges for the Mid State Fair. It's one thing if you ask for opinions, which I didn't.
Anyway, here are some of the photos.

Today wasn't a total waste. I finished a cotton snood. I designed a soap-a-lope, a pouch to put in those tiny bits of leftover soap. It will pay for itself in no time, especially if you buy handmade soap.
And I hosted the first EtsyOC Street Team meeting. We had four people (six if you count the kids).
