Look what I made: http://velvetvixens.ning.com/
I hope some of you divas will join me for the revolution. No more holey sweat pants! No more saggy baggy clothes.
I'm glad to see new members in my sewing group already. For a while there it seemed like no one was learning to sew anymore having given it up for text messaging and playing video games. Lately it's been my goal to get at least one hour of sewing in per day. And that is helping me enjoy sewing again. I'm seeing progress. When you start something and you can't finish it, that steals your energy. It's much more satisfying to finish the project and put it to good use. Today I made 4 bag sleeves (to store grocery store plastic bags in until needed). Two are for my own use, and two are for my Etsy store. I'm also working on a girl's dress and a kimono wrap top. Hopefully I can work on one or both of those tomorrow.
And I want to make some tote bags as my Earth Day project, so I can just use those at the grocery store and use up fewer plastic bags. Some cities are even banning the use of plastic bags. I actually preferred paper bags (because you can use them for sewing patterns) and was sad when stores switched to plastic in the first place. If I get back into silk screening I can screen some original art onto my tote bags, which would be very cool. The local store has denim for $1 a yard, so maybe I'll do that soon.
Anyway, back to sewing.
